Wireless broadband just got even more wireless

(Virtual Press Office) - NetComm Limited has launched its MyZone 3G Router at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The MyZone is a pocket-sized wireless hotspot that creates a private network in the home, at work or on the road. And it’s not just the signal that is wireless. The MyZone needs no power leads, no Ethernet cables, no USB plugs and no external antennas to offer full functionality.

Operating from an internal battery, the MyZone connects via an embedded 3G SIM and allows users to share an Internet connection across multiple devices. It weighs 75g, measures just 10cm by 6cm and is less than 1cm thick. With a stylish gloss black housing, the NetComm MyZone is definitely the best looking and most compact embedded 3G router on the market.

The integrated Lithium-Ion battery gives up to four hours of operation and 40 hours on standby. The device can be charged or directly powered through a micro USB port.

Peak data speeds for the MyZone are 7.2 Mbps on an HSDPA network, making it quite feasible for everyday use.

The pocket size of the unit makes it an extremely practical way for people to maintain a connection on the road, especially when sharing a connection amongst family or colleagues. The MyZone offers a superior solution in this regard compared with 3G USB dongles, which provide varying reception quality, easily influenced by the particular setting where the computer needs to be situated. The MyZone offers much better reception than a dongle and can be placed in a location that guarantees maximum signal strength.
