NetComm’s non-embedded 3G routers: small, fast and flexible
(
Virtual Press Office) - NetComm Limited announces the release of its 3G Travel Router t1. A true wireless 3G hotspot, the tiny t1 unit needs no power or Internet cables and can keep multiple wireless devices connected on the fly. Thanks to an internal battery, users are free of the need to set up cables in whatever temporary situation they find themselves operating in.
The t1 is the pocket-sized version of the NetComm 3G17WN, another non-embedded 3G modem-router. Both of these allow connection via ADSL, but, inserting a 3G dongle permits sharing of the service via Ethernet or through Wireless b/g/n (up to 150Mbps). Alternatively, the 3G dongle can be used for automatic failover in case the ADSL connection is lost.
The sleek and attractive t1 unit is just 103mm (L) x 76mm (W) x 22mm (H), which is similar to many PDA devices and small enough to fit in a pocket. Battery life in usage mode is about 2.5 – 5 hours, but there is the option of using a power cable to allow indefinite operation.
The 3G17WN is a larger desktop unit with an external antenna.
The connectivity offered by these 3G devices is invaluable when private or business users find themselves in a situation where ADSL is not available or below optimum speed. The 3G capability is then ideal either as a primary connection method or as a failover option.
Whatever the scenario, from professional business travel, temporary offices or family holidays, the NetComm t1 and the 3G17WN have the capacity and flexibility to provide an Internet connection with the minimum of hassle and hardware.
