Maxell Debuts AirStash Wireless Flash Drive for Expanding Data Storage and Optimizing Sharing Capabilities at InfoComm 2012
— Pocket-Sized Storage Solution Provides Flexibility and
Security Advantages for AV Professionals —
Woodland Park, NJ – 6/13/12- (
Virtual Press Office) – In addition to displaying an array of tape and optical products at InfoComm 2012, Maxell Corporation (booth #C4736) will also be debuting the second-generation AirStash® A02. Attendees will be among the first in the A/V industry to see the pocket-sized wireless USB flash drive during the show, which takes place from June 13-15, 2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. AirStash can be used by audiovisual and information communications professionals, as well as system integrators serving the professional AV market, to conveniently and securely store and transmit large audio, video, and data files.
AirStash, a portable, pocket-sized wireless USB flash drive for smartphones and tablets, allows users to save and access files wirelessly. It can be plugged into a computer’s USB port to drag and drop files. AirStash lets users carry files and share them with up to eight devices simultaneously—with a secure encryption option—without having to access any servers or networks, creating a new level of flexibility to A/V presentations. In addition to providing an added layer of security, AirStash has capacity of up to 2 TB (SDXC memory cards), which also provides storage flexibility.
“Maxell is a leading innovator in wireless storage technology for our professional audiovisual customers,” said Patricia Byrne, Senior Marketing Manager for Maxell. “AirStash enables data to be securely stored and shared from a pocket-sized flash drive, eliminating the need for other bulky storage tools, and access to corporate networks and servers, saving both time and money.”
AirStash can be configured with any size SD card and provides true two-way wireless storage between smartphones, tablets and computers. Because the USB drive has built-in WiFi capability, storing and transferring data can be achieved securely and quickly. AirStash has high-grade hardware encryption/decryption to ensure secure access, and the wireless connection can be password protected.
Operating AirStash is easy. Simply download the free app, turn on the AirStash device, and connect to the network. The AirStash can support files up 32GB, and can be upgraded to accommodate 2TB with SDXC. A built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery provides up to seven hours of continuous operation, depending upon usage.
AirStash is compatible with smartphones, tablets and computers, including iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Windows Phone, Kindle Fire, and many Android devices. SD card support provides expandability, and the ability to exchange files and media with existing SD-card based products.
For Mac environments, AirStash supports the WebDAV industry standard for compatibility with popular apps, including Apple’s iWork suite. It is also compatible with GoodReader for iOS, and WebDAV Navigator for Android-based devices.
Measuring just 3.6 x 1.2 x 0.5 inches (93 x 32 x 13 mm) and weighing just 1.4 oz (41 g), AirStash easily fits into a pocket, briefcase, or handbag. AirStash charges from any USB-equipped laptop or desktop (powered ports only) and works as a USB high-speed flash drive and memory card reader.
