Three New Solutions from Gefen Stream Audio, Video, USB, Microphone and Control over IP using the Ethernet
Las Vegas, NV- (Virtual Press Office) – Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen unveils three new IP-based A/V and KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) extenders at InfoComm. All three solutions use a sender and receiver system that allows interchangeability over the same Ethernet network, and support today’s most popular interfaces: HDMI, DVI and VGA. These products stream video at the same time and over the same network cable as two channel audio, microphone in/out, USB, RS-232 and IR.

The recommended network is a Gigabit Ethernet LAN, which can distribute sources from the sender to the receiver. A computer source is connected to the sender, which links to the network. The receiver connects the display and other peripheral devices to the same network, providing KVM, control and audio functionality using the same network cable. For all three systems, each sender unit can be connected to multiple receivers in broadcast mode to deliver the same source functionality to multiple destinations. Up to 16 sender and receiver units can be combined in any networked system. Sender and receiver units can be configured to unique IP addresses and when combined, can be matrix switched for improved productivity. Each receiver unit provides two independent Ethernet jacks for connecting additional senders, receivers or Ethernet-based equipment.

Two additional USB ports on each receiver support computer peripheral connectivity at the display side. When installed, sender and receiver units connect to an Ethernet switch or router, each using a single CAT-5 cable up to 330 feet (100m) in length. Built-in EDID management ensures signal integrity during all switching activity. USB 2.0 data travels at rates up to 480 Mbps.

The HDMI KVM over IP delivers 1080p full HD with 3DTV pass-through in the HDMI format with USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio using LAN connectivity. This product is also HDCP-compliant. The DVI KVM over IP extends high resolution video up to 1920x1200 in the DVI format with USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio using LAN connectivity. The VGA KVM over IP extends analog video in the VGA format supporting 1920x1200 resolutions with USB 2.0, RS-232, IR and analog audio using LAN connectivity.
