Gefen’s New Video over IP Solution Incorporates High Definition Video Extension and Distribution in a Daisy Chain Application
Amsterdam, NL Stand 7.B30 - (Virtual Press Office) – At IBC, Gefen unveils a new daisy chain concept for digital signage applications. This solution includes three components: a sender unit, a splitter unit and a receiver unit. Multiple units can be daisy chained using a combination of all three to create a large scale distribution up to one hundred displays. The Daisy Chain Digital Signage System works with all hi-def sources using HDMI including Blu-ray players, satellite set-top boxes and tablets. HDMI can be delivered up to 100 meters between displays along with IR back channel and RS-232 using a single CAT-5 cable between units. Users can create a signal distribution set up like a tree with main branches and smaller branches. A source signal is delivered from the HDMI source to the sender unit to the splitter and to the receiver units, which connect HDMI to any display.

Alternatively, users can opt to split the signal at any time and branch out to another display location. High definition resolutions are supported up to 1080p Full HD with IR and RS-232 control. Users can control key features of the display, including powering displays on and off, adjusting brightness and making sure the display is active.
