Gefen Showcases New Solution Set for Single or Multi-Room Automation and Control
Amsterdam, NL Stand 7.B30 - (Virtual Press Office) – Three additions to Gefen’s expanding product lines enable a simple, point and click method of setting up audio/video system control with options to automate lighting, window shades and
eventually, HVAC. Each can operate as a stand-alone control system or be combined to expand the functionality of the entire A/V system. GAVA (Gefen A/V Automation), PACS (Professional Automation Control System), and Mini PACS are all new products being demonstrated at IBC.

GAVA
GAVA offers control of any audio/video system through an intuitive HTML5 interface that works with all smart phones and tablets, and is optimized for iPad, iPhone and Android as the control interfaces. It uses IP connectivity to link all audio/video devices in a system, including laptops, AppleTV, computers, set-top boxes, displays and projectors. It is very easy to program, and supplies a simple configuration process that can be managed in just minutes. Integrators can easily demonstrate and sell the GAVA system, because its user-friendly interface allows a quick and simple system setup without extensive programming or training. Although designed to run on a network, it does not require Internet access for configuration or use.

PACS
PACS can be programmed to store all IR and RS-232 commands for connected A/V devices, including sources, splitters, scalers, displays and more. PACS makes it simple to control A/V devices from a central interface with three RS-232, eight IR emitters and ten contact closures. It features a high-efficiency method of accessing A/V devices equipped with RS-232 or IR. Video distribution, power on/off and volume levels can be controlled using IP with a simple web interface. IR commands can be stored by PACS to memorize pre-configured commands. This makes it easy to centralize and automate A/V devices. When combined with GAVA, users can automate and control devices using IR, RS-232 and IP from any smart phone or tablet.

Mini PACS
The Mini PACS offers the same features as the PACS in a scaled down, wall mountable version with one RS-232, three IR emitters and two relay closures. It is ideal for systems where equipment is not necessarily centralized in a single rack. It is a smart choice for distributed systems that still requiremore cost-effective, anywhere/anytime access.
