CONTENT TELEVISION SIGNS FUNDING & PRODUCTION AGREEMENT WITH BACK2BACK, LAUNCHING WITH SIX-PART SERIES THE ROYALS

Cannes, October 8th, 2012 - (Virtual Press Office) – Content Television, a division of Content Media Corporation, and the award-winning independent Back2Back Productions today announced a significant worldwide funding and production deal, as the distributor continues to build its portfolio through exclusive collaborations with leading producers.

The new agreement with the UK-based factual producer, which is led by Chairman Simon Shaps, formerly ITV Director of Programmes and Managing Director David Notman-Watt, will see the two companies partnering on the funding, production and subsequent international distribution of projects for the next two years. Also announced is the first series greenlit through the deal - a factual production entitled The Royals, which will be distributed worldwide across all platforms by Content Television.

The Royals is a six-part documentary series promising the definitive look at all facets of Royal life – from weddings, babies and teens to funerals, pets and scandals – taking viewers into the fascinating world of the British monarchy, in all its grandeur, splendour and even controversy.

Greg Phillips, President at Content Television and Digital commented today, “Throughout our discussions with David and the team at Back2Back we have been very impressed with their enthusiasm and energy, and their original approach to factual and reality programme-making, exhibited both by their award-winning catalogue and their roster of exciting new ideas. The company has a highly experienced team of producers on hand to bring these diverse projects to life and we look forward to working with them on the development of The Royals and further innovative and globally appealing shows.”

David Notman-Watt, Managing Director at Back2Back Productions added, “This is a great opportunity for both companies. By side-stepping commissioners and networks, Back2Back and Content will be creating original series for international distribution directly, allowing both companies to fully realise the potential of newly created programming across all platforms in the global marketplace. Back2Back’s commissioned factual and reality content is already extremely successful with international broadcasters. Co-producing/co-funding new content with a globally renowned distributor such as Content Television will allow us to build on this as we look to expand Back2Back in the future.”

Established since 2000, Back2Back Productions specialises in factual specials and series as well as reality programming. The company has collaborated with a range of leading global broadcasters, with recent credits including the one-hour special The Soham Murders: Ten Years On for the Crime & Investigation Network, eight-part series Shaun Ryder on UFOs for The History Channel, six-part series Jews on Bikes for Sky Atlantic, the Grierson Award-winning 90-minute special Take That: For the Record for ITV1 and the 60-minute special My Phone Sex Secrets for Channel 4, which Jay Hunt called during Edinburgh “one of the best documentaries of the year”. Also in production or recently completed are Lily Cole’s Art Matters, a 6 x 60 minute series for Sky Arts and the 60-minute specials, Bizarre Burials for Five and Super Interns for MTV.

This new deal with Back2Back Productions is the latest in a series of recently announced collaborations by Content Media Corporation. Earlier this year, the company signed an ongoing strategic deal to develop a joint formats portfolio with Los Angeles-based formats company Small World IFT and added to its investment portfolio with a 50% stake in Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions.
